A packed crowd at Gallagher's Steak House in Manhattan turned out for the announcement of "Undefeated... But Not For Long," a Main Events promoted HBO Boxing After Dark doubleheader on June 24. Headlining the card at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas will be heavyweight Calvin Brock of Charlotte, NC, (28-0, 22 KO's) who will be facing Timur Ibragimov of Uzbekistan, (22-0, 18 KO's.) The second bout of the Boxing After Dark telecast will be a WBA welterweight title eliminator between Colombian Joel Julio (27-0, 24 KO's) against Carlos Quintana of Puerto Rico (22-0, 18 KO's.) Brock said of Ibragimov, "I'd like to thank team Ibragimov for coming to this boxing match, they put up a real good, tough opponent. He's the first professional boxer that I'm going against that has a good amateur background." A man of few words, Ibragimov promised simply, "It will be a very hard and tough fight. I will do everything for this to work out." --More to come--

Ditto that...
HBO needs to realize that you dont necessarily have to have Roy Jones or Floyd Mayweather in a card to make it great...the superstars often dissappoint with one sided fights where as the contenders seem to come thru and give the fans what they really want.
Im looking forward to this for sure!Comment

I'm looking forward to Brock-Ibragimov but Julio vs. Quintana is the fight I most want to see.Two of the top prospects at 147 squaring off it doesn't get much better than that.My pick is Brock by decision and the Julio-Quintana is a pick em fight and I'm not going to make a pick.Comment

they should do another Night of the Young Heavyweights so we can all talk about how good the new heavyweights look and watch as they all get KO'ed or disappear from the sport within a yearComment
