    Belasco Theatre, Los Angeles - Super bantamweight Manuel “Tino” Avila (17-0, 7 KOs) continued his streak of wins with a dominating ten round unanimous decision over Erik Ruiz (13-3, 6 KOs). All three judges saw it 100-90.

    Featherweight prospect Diego De La Hoya (10-0, 6 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Ramiro Robles (12-3-1, 6 KOs). All three judges scored it as a one-sided wipeout with cards of 80-72.

    Avila is right, that left jab is his best punch. Very impressed with how he uses that punch, and his left hand overall. He needed it too, after hurting his right hand in the 7th. Ruiz was very game.

    Good learning experience for DDLH. He absolutely dominated the first round, looked close at times to a TKO in the round.

    Instead, he gets extended 8 against a tough young opponent.

    Disagree with the write up about what happened at the end if the 5th...it was a clear push/slip.

    And Negrete showed some skills in there. May not have much power, but throws some nice compact combinations.
