Is Chris Algieri an elite fighter or a bum?

I'm trying to figure why people call him a bum. He's only has one loss and that to Manny Pacquaio.

He beaten Ruslan, Taylor and countless others.


So my question is Chris Algieri an elite fighter or a bum?

Algieri was starting to answer the question, got thrown in with Manny Pacquiao, and got beat 11-1. No one really knows.

He fought Taylor, to then survive and outbox Provodnikov; after taking that fight, he should've stayed at 140, testing himself against some of the top guys at the weight. Dulorme, Herrera, Jessie Vagas, etc would've all been solid opponents to get a better gauge of his talent level (Cold War barred a lot of the options).

If he follows up the Provodnikov win with a dominant performance over one of the mentioned fighters, Algieri could've earnestly looked like an elite fighter at 140, with the frame to eventually go to 147.

He didn't, so now the question is still lingering. if he ends up looking like **** in the Khan fight, he'd go down as being a bum.

His movement is basic and predictable (he basically does nothing but circle), he has zero power and leaky defence. Against Provodnikov, who is just throwing hayemakers from the outside, you can look good at times but I think he lost that fight and then Pacquiao showed what Algieri is; a guy who can beat other basic fighters, no more.

Khan is basically a better version of Algieri, it's a perfect style match for Khan to look good in.

Neither he's a decent fighter but not elite or world class. #48's fans overrated him like they do with all #48's weak competition.

He's a solid B fighter. Would win quiet a few fights at 140 & 147 but could also lose as we've seen he can get hurt. I think he could outbox the likes of Danny Garcia, Broner, Peterson, Rios, Guerrero, Porter & maybe even Bradley if Bradley carries on fighting reckless.

If he had power I would give him a solid shot against Khan but Khan will beat anyone without power at 147 imo barring Floyd.
