    The Guardian (UK) newspaper had a superb article on the 5 greatest fights since the year 2000.





    and here are the fights:

    5) Akira Yaegashi vs Por n sawan Porpramook
    4) Erik Morales v Marco Antonio Barrera I
    3) Israel Vázquez vs Rafael Márquez III
    2) Micky Ward v Arturo Gatti I
    1) Diego Corrales v José Luis Castillo I

            Cotto/Margarito I has to be in the top 5, tainted or not. It was an absolute war.

                Great list.

                Corrales-Castillo is possibly my favourite fight of all time. Just terrific.

                I also truly loved Jirov-Toney, but it rarely gets mentioned.

                  1. Morales/Barrera 1
                  2. Castillo/Corrales 1
                  3. Gatti/Ward 1
                  4. Marquez/Vasquez 3
                  5. Marquez/Diaz 1 or Bradley/Provodknikov

                  BTW, 2000-2009 ****s all over 2010-2014

                    TheGuardian is crap but that list is reasonable. Two of those are on my personal top 5 and I wouldn't tell anyone they're wrong for including the others.
