No you would get props for that. It's the fact that everyone of your fights goes to decision, no matter what. And anytime Pac even tried to land a punch his feet would literally jump backwards super fast as if he just saw a wild dog run up on him trying to bite him. That style will get you a decision not a knockout a decision every time but it's so boring and lame.

Yeah, dodging a punch is a skill, but I don't know if hugging someone to duck a punch is a skill though..

But yes he does have skill, but he rather run and pitty patty jabs to win a fight. Can't call that a great fighter maybe a great running man more like it.

Mayweather is the one that downplays him and he wants props. Marquez got all the props he deserved.

People have already given their props to Mayweather, only Pacturds are in wonderland still.

but thats the thing..floyd doesn't try to take anybody's head off.. hes all about racking up points and avoiding exchanges. .hes all finesse. .just like duncan.. so comparison still valid.. only other fighter i can compare him to is sweet pea whitaker.

Even women who normally don't watch boxing ask "how come when it's Morales, it looks exciting, but with this guy it's a lot of hugging and running?" This alone should tell you why you don't get props.

I personally would not mind the running so much, but the hugging is just not boxing. You can punch and you can be punched while you run, which what boxing is all about, but not when you hug. That's the first thing you did when Pacquiao got you in the corner. And that's what you did a lot of times the entire fight.

Again, that's why you don't get props.

I don't know if he is REALLY THAT defensive (in the grammatical way) or if he is already hyping the rematch.

... Floyd is already hyping the (possible) rematch...
... It was Roach who provided all the trash talking for the last Saturday fight -- but now Roach lost any credibility... So Floyd took the torch in his hands...

(Actually, Mayweather isn't a defensive fighter "per se" -- he rather is a highly skilled ambush fighter...)

If you scratch out a victory over a healthy Pac... You get some props.

If you REALLY beat Pac clearly even if he IS injured!! Then you get some props...

If you trash a healthy Pac, you are TBE!

But if you fight a practically even fight no matter which way you score it (fairly) with a guy with a busted shoulder, who was DENIED treatment before the fight, THEN YOU GET NO PROPS!

Marquez was underdog. It was an unexpected win, and the unexpected win happened in the most unexpected fashion that fans can think of.

Favored fighters don't seem to get much props for beating the underdog by KO or UD. Although a Floyd KO win was unexpected, because he's so favored and superior to every boxer of his era, it would sink in easier if Floyd KO'ed Pacquiao. Which is why JMM got so much props, and a Floyd KO wouldn't get as much credit.
