What Manny must do to beat Mayweather- my thoughts from 2010.

Just looking back after the fight this past weekend. Not trolling (right now) but looking at the convos we had before this site went to hell. Many of us were spot on in our assessments.

I do think, however, inside of about 5 rounds, Manny has to make his move and try to get PBF out of the there. (easier said than done of course because of Mayweather's defense and counter punching ability) He doesn't have to load up for one big shot, but the first 5 rounds must be tough rounds for Manny in that he MUST tag Floyd with combinations. He has the speed, power, and footwork to do just that.

The biggest key to Manny winning this fight IMO is if he gets Floyd hurt, he must capitalize and stop Floyd (unlike Shane's quest last weekend). The guys that hurt Floyd with the cleanest shots have been quick southpaws (Corley, Judah, Shane although he wasn't a southpaw). Now, those guys are not Manny of course (Shane can crack!), but I bring that up based on the fact that they were southpaws. If Manny lands a big left hand like Chop Chop did, he has to finish the work because if he allows Floyd to stay around, he might have a hard time catching him with something else big, just as we saw with Shane last week.

I see Mayweather as a tough puzzle to figure out, so I believe these are ALL legitimate questions to ask...

    1) Can Manny make the necessary adjustments if their game plan does not work?

    2) If his big shots don't find home, will Manny get discouraged?

    3) Once Manny realizes that Floyd is hard to hit, will he stay calm?

    4) Southpaws (and Shane) have found home with clean shots against Floyd, but will Manny do what the others couldn't do and that is capitalize after landing a clean shot?

Wait and prey that reincarnation is real, he's not going to beat Floyd in this life time.

The only thing I got wrong was Pacquiao somewhat checking out, and really all those smiles in the ring was weird, I really enjoyed Mayweather's performance but looking back it was a bit of a weird fight.

Well you were right. That sums it up there. Manny is just not versatile enough to beat Floyd. His offense must be his everything and Floyd can neutralize that.

Its too late to teach him and Freddie Roach has never been able to train a fighter defensively.

Never gonna beat that Floyd that ran around the ring last weekend. No one will. He has mastered the art of fighting while moving alot. Yes he's that good that he can beat you and outland you while hes fighting backwards. And midget arm Pacquiao ain't ever gonna be able to beat Floyd on the cards in a fight like that. Now if they went blow for blow like I'll take a combo to give you mine type fight than Pac stands a chance.

Boxing is a dance, an art, a song with the visual movement of notes.
This why a casual fan or fan boy cannot relate. Its really not about kos. It really isn't....
