Comments Thread For: Thompson: Wilder is a Chinny Bum, Molina Fight is a Joke!

Veteran Tony Thompson (40-5, 27KOs) nearly lost his mind when he heard WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs) is possibly going to make the first defense of his title against Eric Molina (23-2, 17KOs) on a June date in Alabama. Thompson is coming off a February stoppage victory over Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis.

Thompson is pushing to get his hands on Wilder and wants his shot right now. He views the fight between Wilder and Molina as a mismatch and expects a first round knockout for the champion, who captured his belt in January with a twelve round decision of Bermane Stiverne. Wilders chin looked pretty good against Stiverne.

Wilder punches pretty hard but Thompson probably would stop him late. Hope Wilder doesn't fight Molina - he has two KO1 against him and this will be 3rd. Wilder vs. Anyone that can go past 1 round, please!

Wilder needs to stop playing business man and look to fight the guys that reap the highest reward. That's how you become loved, not making calculated business decisions and over analyzing a weak heavyweight era

Nothing wrong with a cup cake first defense to maximize your earnings.

Molina is a textbook case of a bull**** opponent with a perfectly-inflated record.

But Wilder doesnt need to play it that safe, even in a cash grab stay-busy fight.

Molina is a standard Haymon opponent. Haymon is the worst thing in boxing. He won over some detractors by making a couple solid fights to open his series, and now it'll be back to just like last year. **** fight after **** fight. the fans lose every time, but i''ll tell you who won't ever lose: Wilder, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Amir Khan, Adrien Broner, Leo Santa Cruz. they'll all be padding their records against ex sparring partners and feather-fisted punchers for the next several years.

This is an absolute joke of a fight. Molina's best win is DaVarryl Williamson and he gets a shot at a title?
