Pascal may fight in US on Kovalev/Mohamadi undercard

Well, he was gonna do the same with Bute till Bute jumped.

I hope it's a better opponent if it goes down

Also, part of the article that I've been saying they'd do since the whole ME/WBC fallout

Regarding Chilemba, Main Events would like to find him so that it becomes a fight mandatory contender to the WBC belt in the coming months. As we know, Kovalev won the title by defeating Pascal, but it would be about to abandon for several reasons.

Chilemba is the next highest rated person on the WBC list. Since they won't take Kovalev off HBO, they'll do it with Chilemba since he's not as valuable, but capable of winning.

Said that as soon as they turned down the purse bid

Surmising here, but they're talking about Stevenson-Oosthuizen for the IBO title in September. Wouldn't be surprised to see Stevenson vacate the WBC to allow another Haymon guy Alvarez to fight Chilemba for a vacant title, which still leaves Stevenson with the lineal championship plus a title (of sorts). Personally I think Alvarez does better against Chilemba.

Yea, heard about that. The June date seems to have fallen out.

          Alvarez/Chilemba will be more competitive.

I like Alvarez in that fight.

If that's the plan I wonder if Main Events would pull Chilemba out, they might decide that there is no point wasting a top 5 opponent like Chilemba on PBC in a fight he could lose when they can have him fight Kovalev on HBO.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Didn't Chilemba lose to Tony Bellew?

I think they'd still go with it.

Stevenson is still a dangerous fight, but EA is just as dangerous.

They'd at least still have a shot at the WBC belt w/o having to use that ****** Rubles/Dollar excuse
