Yeah man, Matthysse pounded on him in round 6 in a fashion that reminded me of Rd 14 of Ali-Frazier III. To want more of that takes possibly the biggest balls in the sport.

I did think the fight was close though but I heard a lot of people, especially those watching the Russian broadcast, felt it was not a close fight (in favor of Matthysse). I think he got outboxed but there were moments Ruslan definitely let his presence be known.

Maybe Ruslan's face is permanently numbed by the cold in Siberia and he's not actually feeling the punches? Lucas has the nickname but Provo's the real machine, walking through the gunshots.

I remember somebody suggesting a Matthysse/Crawford & Provodnikov/Rios card after that fight. Man that'd be something.

Provodnikov is crazy, he needs to stop taking so many damn shots, I think he should go out and get a couple wins before talking Matthysse rematch!

I want Ruslan vs. Rios MUCH more. Rios said he would stop Ruslan too. This would be another FOTY candidate, and it would turn out to be more competitive than Matts/Ruslan. Matts retreated when he had to and refused to stand in the pocket for too long, but Rios is going to come and go to war and he loves the phone booth.
