Comments Thread For: Mayweather Says He'll Give Pacquiao a Rematch
Collapse

... Mayweather: "I will fight him in a year after his surgery."
So, basically:
1) Mayweather is forcing Pac under the surgeon knife;
2) Mayweather doesn't retire after the September fight, as he repeatedly stated.
3) It isn't clear what kind of business model the rematch will follow -- but it has to be a PPV fight in case Floyd wants another huge payday;
4) Casual fans are ****** enough, but it will be a real challenge to hype the rematch.

-First, defensive fighting means don't put yourself in a position to give your opponent the opportunity to use his offense. Whether you tie up, spin off the ropes with a counter, use lateral movement, or jump past your opponent to get back to center ring......that is called boxing and has nothing to do with the 'rise of MMA'.....name 1 MMA event that could generate what these guys did??
-Next......Floyd was hit with 2 shots that rocked him a bit, followed by a flurries where Manny landed two or 12 in the 4th..........but how many times did he catch Manny with check-hook and hard right hands that kept Manny from swarming him? If he really had a problem with his shoulder, and I believe him, if he were a smart fighter, he could have used feints and other things to set Floyd up. Floyd was setting Manny up for a RH with all those check hooks........he used them repeatedly and one or two times, instead threw RH that BARELY missed.........or Manny's head would have snapped back. And I saw three shots that stopped Manny dead in his tracks and let's be real here......any time Floyd CHOSE, he walked forward and Manny backed off and did nothing about it.......and he did it at will......
-Finally, if you're the best offensive fighter and the best you can do is land two punches that got Mayweather's attention and land only 80 total punches?? Maybe you need to give the defensive guy more credit. Floyd isn't going to go out there like Hagler or Hearns or Duran and look to bust you into submission. He learned at 147 that as long as he worked as hard as he was forced to, his talent would win out. Same happened. If Manny had pushed him more, we'd have seen more from Floyd. It was pretty similar to the Canelo fight......
-Let me say one more thing......Let's turn it the other way and think about the spewing the Pac fans, not the boxing fans that are Pacquiao fans, but the Pac fans, aka trolls, aka another word that starts with pac and ends with 'rhymes with lard' are called........
CAN YOU POSSIBLY IMAGINE IF FLOYD HAD LOST, THEN DID EXACTLY WHAT MANNY DID?? THE BOXING SCENE SERVERS AND EVER OTHER HIGH VOLUME SIGHT WOULD HAVE CRASHED WITH ALL THE POSTS ABOUT THE COWARD........
Here's a very harsh truth that you should accept. Manny won two rounds clearly. The 4th and 6th.......maybe Floyd gave away another........but bottom line is this, FLOYD WAS DOING FLOYD........working as hard as you make him work, no more, no less. And if it were Manny's left shoulder that was the problem? Much bigger issue..........but he threw a lot of jabs, and missed, and I saw him land a few right hooks.........but I take him at his word that the injury was real.
But other than the one exchange in the 4th round, he looked as good as Floyd would let him look. That's all.......
The biggest mistake other than not postponing this fight is that for all the talk of Manny's speed, everyone forgot how fast Mayweather is. His foot and hand speed are at least on par. Which nullified every advantage Pac had....he was also using that check-hook to setup the RH, never quite timed it right. But if they do fight again and Floyd doesn't get old waiting, the fight won't be as close as the first, Floyd will not let him win more than two rounds again, and the excuses will keep coming.
I never thought I'd say this........but Manny showed NO class at the end of the fight..........Floyd was the much better sportsman. And if this fight had happened five years ago when both were still in their prime, Floyd wins just as easily but makes Manny pay more.........
If you think Manny has ANY chance after Saturday, you are kidding yourself. IF Manny manages to get a rematch, which he'd have to take 30% at best, he will look as good as Floyd allows him to look.
Time for trolls to move on. We've got the 'Next Gen' of fighters, plenty of potential fights and much more to talk about. Manny lost............did it in bad style and handled it in bad taste.........I feel like he cheated me out of $40 (his split of the 100)........and he should be fined or suspended for not claiming his injury at the weigh-in.
SHAME ON TEAM PACQUIAO. ESPECIALLY ARUM AND ROACH WHO KNEW BETTER!!!

Mother****ers complaining about hugs. CompuClinch only counted 13, that's barely more than 1 a round.

And for all the complaining of running abd holding, Floyd was in range AND in full control for 80+% of the fight....so why couldn't the offensive God do anything then? He used his right hand abd if he were a thinking fighter, he could have used it less but more effectively to set traps.....he didn't.
Last, from the 8th on, Manny did his own share of initiating clinches.....you beloved hero lost and had Floyd been more aggressive, could have finished Manny any point after the ninth....he just isn't that type of fighter any more as he somewhat was before 30.....but after all the years of spewing, non-boxing Pacquigav fans still continue. Even though their righteous hero, concerned only about the fans, took an $80 MIL check and ran with it......HE WAS THERE FUR THE CHECK....NOT THE FANS....HE WAS AS GOOD AND LOOKED AS GOOD AS FLOYD ALLOWED HIM TO LOOK....THREW FEWER PUNCHES, LANDED ON AVERAGE IN SINGLE DIGITS PER ROUND.....NO CREDIT TO HIS OPPONENT AT ALL?
Go ahead....change the subject and skip every valid point made as is the typical MO.....SMH.....Last edited by ssc73; 05-07-2015, 01:19 AM.
