Manny Pacquiao shoulder injury could spark perjury charge - Nevada authorities investigatinghere the link

Thanks for the post! Here's the bottom line, someone from Team Pacquiao needs to be fired, and I suggest it should be Freddie Roach:

According to Travis Tygart, the CEO of USADA, Pacquiao’s camp let the boxer down big time by failing to disclose the boxer's shoulder injury.

“If you're a caring person and Manny actually had an injury, while it has nothing to do with anti-doping, his camp let him down by inaccurately filling out the paperwork for the Nevada Commission in violation of its rules,” said Tygart. “He didn't get the medication that he otherwise could have used. You feel sorry that his team let him down the way that they did. His team either committed an egregious mistake, or their gamesmanship by not disclosing something that could give the opponent a tactical advantage — a shoulder injury — came back to bite them.

“Or they were worried the fight was going to get cancelled because of the injury, and they weren't going to get paid. These guys know better.”

They've done a terrible job of handling it, but in the context of things, or supposed things. Standing infront of the million of people watching on TV and in front of fans who have paid ridiculous amounts, saying he went into the fight injured was not the time and place.

Well yeh, could you imagine the backlash he would have got had he explained the injury right after the fight. Instead he babbled his way to claiming he won.

And all the preachy God stuff beforehand, yet they blatantly lied to the NSCA, or lie to be determined, or they've lied about him being injured, i don't know...! its just been one loooong soap oprea! zzzzzzzz

            • He certainly shouldn't have lied. It could be Manny. It could be his team. Ultimately, it just sucks he wasn't healthy. We waited all these years, and the outcome is tainted. At least for me. I don't get why Floyd fans are happy. His biggest win is surrounded in controversy. This isn't about boxing for them.

                Yeah it is unfortunate indeed.

You realize that this thread is about NSAC threatening to suspend/fine Manny for having an injury that he didn't previously disclose to them? Saying he wasn't injured now really sounds ******. An MRI from yesterday showed a significant tear requiring surgery. That **** is real. The question of how they handled this whole mess is another question though.

                  >also he would have told max kellerman he was injured when being interviewed.
Circumstantial. He didn't happen to tell kellerman about the injury but only moments later did at the press conference. This is a non-issue.

                  > he said "he thought he won"
This is what he said at first, but the tune changed at the post-presser and a followup interview with rappler where he says "I did my best, but my best wasn't enough" and admits to losing. Saturday was no doubt FMJs day, but he's saying that he could have done better in different circumstances.
This seemed to me like a frustrated pacquiao venting to kellerman, i really question whether he believed he won. Or at least his body language looked defeated to me.

                  • He needs to change teams, this shouldn't be happening to one of the sports major stars.....
