Ward is a ******ed d-bag. He's going off about how Loeffler's being dishonest with the fans and how he likes to be 'real'.

Andre Ward says he’d like to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr if the Mexican star moves up to super middleweight in the near future.

    Andre Ward - April 2013:
I'm going to tell you this: Chavez Jr is not an easy fight. A lot of people say [it's easy] but that's not an easy fight. He's a big kid, he's a strong kid and he can punch.
WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward discussed his rival, IBF champion Carl Froch, who always states that he wants to have rematch with the undefeated Olympic gold medal winner. Ward easily decisioned Froch several years ago in the final bout of the Super Six tournament. Recently, Froch has been very vocal about facing former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a fight likely to take place in Las Vegas - if Chavez is able to defeat Bryan Vera in their March 1st rematch.

    Andre Ward - January 2014:
Right now Carl Froch is behind the scenes trying to get what he percieves as the weak link, which Chavez Jr. ... He doesn't want a real challenge...

    http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...ely-time-being
    Andre Ward - December 2011:
Going up to light heavyweight for the right fight -- not to campaign up there, but for the right fight -- is an option. So we've just got to sit back and see what makes sense. I think I earned the right to pick the right fight for the right price.

    Andre Ward - March 2013:
I answered the question and said I would be willing to fight Floyd at 160 if that fight ever came about.

    Andre Ward - April 2013:
“I want to [challenge for a world heavyweight title], I’ve talked about that since I’ve been a kid,” Ward said, apparently straight-faced. “It seems crazy right now, but I’m not gonna be [one-hundred and] sixty-eight [pounds] forever.” “You got to fight the right heavyweight,” he admitted, but added: “As a fighter, I believe I could beat a Klitschko… I’m wired to believe that…I think it could happen, absolutely.”

****-off Andre, ****-off. Go keep it real in front of those 90million viewers on BET.

We know Ward is full of ****, even in the interview the cameraman was like "Okay, take this opportunity to let everyone know..." And Ward can't even say GGG's name and just says this is the last time I'm going to talk about it. He didn't even say anything except, he told GGG's promoter to stop talking about a fight happening and when asked if he would fight GGG his answer was "I'm not talking about this again."

We get it Andre, you're scared.

I just don't get why he says keep his name out of their mouth. They never go out of their way to mention it. It's the reporters who constantly ask about it so they respond. What else are they supposed to do? Avoid answering the question? If they did that, I could see people using that against them.

I have no doubt Canelo would love to fight GGG. Not sure Oscar would let that happen.
On one level it makes no sense for Oscar to make that fight.

But on the other hand, Oscar probably looks at his own career and sees that despite his losses in some of his big fights (Tito, Shane, Hopkins) he was still a monster PPV draw at the end of it.

Maybe he sees that as the route Canelo can take. You could look at Canelo taking the Lara fight and argue that's the way they're going.

Now you are nitpicking. He didn't come out and SAY "i want to unify division" until the cotto fight came up.

i'm guessing that hbo will try to force the fight too. alvarez will face cotto and lemieux and then the golovkin unification will be a ppv event for summer next year

You're nitpicking. You're saying he didn't "directly" say he wants to unify the titles as if it is some magic word, but after he fought Stevens he said he wanted to fight Martinez and Quillin (the two other major title holders). It's the same thing. This was back in 2013 too, not "after cotto beat Martinez."

                  You're right.

I think the issue is when people bring up Hagler or someone staying at one weight their whole career, the divisions were good. Nowaday's you need move up to keep the challenge fresh not pick on bums forever. GGG can move up, Vladimir cannot so he has no other option. GGG would gain more respect for beating Ward and Froch than if he were to KO Quillin, Canelo and Cotto. However, the fact is he would get more fame beating the smaller guys.

I just wish GGG were being real, if he wanted legacy he would beat the SMW's. Instead he wants money and fame under the guise of legacy and unification. It might be his promoter or whatever, this is what is happening though. You know what though, I really don't have a problem with it. But he needs to understand that Cotto and Canelo are doing the same thing and avoiding GGG is best for their fame and fortune. Like Cotto said, they need to just wait their turn.

Had'nt really thought of it from that angle, but it does make sense. Canelo has'nt shyed away from tough competition. People can say what they will about the outcomes of his fights or his skill level, but the kid is'nt lacking in the balls department and is the type of fighter that an L here or there is'nt going to affect much. Guess we will know more Saturday night after the Kirkland fight which is actually the fight I've been super excited to see. My boy getting his chance against Canelo.
