Roach has always been the biggest joke in boxing . Pac has had a successful career merely off his own athletic gifts , almost like a Roy Jones . He didnt ever coach Cotto to a victory over Martinez as Martinez chased out and threw that fight .

there is no doubt roach is a good trainer but i do think he is overrated without question. there is no doubt tho there is so many politics when it comes trainer of the year but i just hope if mayweather wins in september that they dont rob floyd sr of trainer of the year

Roach is an alright trainer, especially when he was at his best. I don't think his condition allows him to be anything close to that anymore, there really isn't any shame in that.

He was always a keep it simple kind of trainer which was solid with a talented fighter like Manny.
