I think we cannot imagine what it is like to be fighting for over a half a billion dollars and have the entire world watching you. Only those two know what it is like to have that kind of pressure on you in the new age of social media. Manny looked like he was forcing a really creepy strong smile trying to be carefree overcompensating for nervousness.. And Floyd, well we all saw those moments where he looked like he just saw a ghost and is ****ting himself. But of course! Those two guys should be freaked out of their mind. I mean, basically everyone who is the least bit sane would go crazy in that type of spotlight with the entire world watching you.
Fear, they both fought with extreme fear. Who really couldn't under those circumstances? That I believe does not show us who is the better fighter. They are both great in their own ways and styles makes fights. They both would probably lose to some guys the other one would have their number for.
In other sports you get to see over years who the best is. It is crazy to have 30 minutes out of your entire life determine who the better man is. In a performance like the one we had last night, in my opinion at least, it is simply an illustration of two masters and their unique greatness. Sometimes when judging a fight it is simply not applicable to apply quantitative measurements like 10 to 9 to determine something so qualitative such as a martial ART.
