Was Holyfield/Tyson I the last great fight?

By that, I mean, the last great, big fight which was a big PPV attraction? Since then we've had the rematch, Lewis/Tyson, Floyd/DLH and now Floyd/Pac. That fight was great to watch, a bit back and forth, some good action throughout and a tremendous finish.

Every "big" fight since has been a major let down and I believe, beyond financials has damaged boxing. Lots of new fans have gone away disillusioned with what they've seen and Pac/May is no difference. Are there any enticing ideas out there for genuinely pop culture encapsulating fights that could actually be exciting?

No Holyfield was viewed as shot coming into the fight. The rematch IMO was among the last great PPV super fights. The world stood still for that fight and it was viewed as competitive, unlike Lewis vs Tyson.

Holy/Tyson I was still a huge PPV and it was a greater fight than the rematch. Maybe try reading my post next time you POS.

It was viewed as a big fight in name only. Yes it was a PPV but so was Tyson vs Seldon. So what does that mean. Holyfield had looked shot coming into this fight. He gassed out against Bowe in their final bout. He also had looked flat against Bobby Czyz.

I'm talking about the actual fight itself, the very fact that Holy was viewed as shot and came back to win by KO was one of boxing's greatest ever upsets.

Yes it was one of the classic fights with Holyfield taking the heart of Tyson and walking him down late. It was high drama, but going into the fight some people feared for Holyfield's health.

I also thought the second fight was alot better, Mike started doing better and then bit his ear off lmao. But the fight was huge and it was competitive and had high drama with the world watching, it was Mike tyson so the crazy ending with all the viewers made it classic.

I don't remember people feeling cheated as much as they seem to with some of the other big fights mentioned, it was a spectacle and will always be viewed as a crazy fight.

Tyson even against lewis at least tried to get off some shots and went after him and somehow I respected Mike for taking the ass whooping like a man and being humble and showing Lewis respect after the fight.

You thought a 2 and a half round fight which ended in disqualification was better?
