I'm not sold on him as top p4p yet but he definitely has the potential. Walters will be his real test but he's not ready for him yet.

i really like loma, but there are moments where it seems (or at least to me) he is doing nothing, like when he fought russell jr, he had him hurt a few times, but he didn't finish him. still, when he shows his potential, the guy is a beast.

He always has been. I remember how hyped I was when I heard he was finally turning pro. He's a genuinely special fighter.

He does a but too much shoe-shining and showing off at times. It's the AIBA influence.

He's been a fun guy to watch. Idk about him becoming a PPV star though. I think the US isn't very accepting of "foreign" or non-hispanic PPV stars.

I'm not sold on there being a Russian boxing fan PPV base (I know there are nationalities over there besides Russia but I'm not naming all of them, so Russia = all of dem) in the US for guys like GGG, Loma or Kovalev quite yet. All of them have some attributes that if they were of the right background would give them a good opportunity to be PPV cats I will say that.

If GGG or Kovalev were Mexican they'd likely have had a few PPV shows by now & surely would have made for more attractive opponents for higher ups sooner cuz there'd be more money involved for fighting them.

You know, I think you're right... but man... that's SO long from now... I want Loma to start facing big competition now... Floyd is gonna be gone, Manny is a shadow of his former self... Rigo has been cast out of Olympus....

Who is else is there? I mean super-athletes... Thurman?

I really hope they don't put off the Walters fight forever... Walters might test Loma's chin but no way in hell can he outpoint him...

Would be great too If Loma could gradually fill out to 140 over the next few years(if that's even physically possible)

Also, If Loma is just gonna fight bums... he needs to be fighting four times or more a year

When you get Roy Jones Jr's respect you know you're something special... He even said he was top 5 p4p right now... Loma disagrees(because he's humble and wants to prove himself first) but I think Roy meant that TALENT wise Loma is one of the top guys right now... kind of like Roy Jones Jr Talent wise is the greatest fighter of all time...

I agree - I understand feeling your opponent out in the first couple rounds, but he was barely there. Constantly looking to Bryd after each low blow also worries me; he's going to get Facelube Ortiz'd in there if he keeps that up.

That being said, I think a lot of this will come with experience. I'd love to see him take on Rigondeaux in the not too distant future.

Many people try too hard sell him as a future P4P champion. I think either Rigo or Walters would handle him at this point. He has awkward angles and he is very fast but all with this he is pretty hittable, he is in your face and he isn't jump in and out as good as for example Pacquiao. His "I'm in your face while jumping around you and punching you from awkward angles" won't work against elite competition. It would work if he would have more power but Loma is not a new Pacquiao.
It bothers me when someone with a 4-1 resume shouted out already as a future P4P star. We will see. I don't think so.a
