Floyd Mayweather Jr is the Tim Duncan of Boxing.

He isn't the most talented ever(though he is up there) he isn't the most exciting(not close) and he isn't the most athletic ever(see:RJJ) , but what he IS is the most consistent. Year after year, fight after fight, and champion after champion he ALWAYS finds a way to win. No matter the circumstances or the style he adjusts and he wins. Duncan could easily score off the glass from 15 feet instead of trying to take you off the dribble and jamming it. He isn't nearly as athletic as his peers but he will always be remembered as the very best PF of all time because he was THE MOST CONSISTENT and always got the job done while winning his entire damn career. Floyd is a top 10 ATG whether you like his style or not. His place among the greats will always be debated but what CAN'T be debated is his ability to win. It's not his job to be the most exciting fighter of all time. It's not his job to go toe to toe and brawl. It's his job to WIN and to outclass his foes which he has done for 2 decades. Do you fault Timmeh for not being as high a flyer as Shawn Kemp? As talented as KG? Of course not you respect him for what he does and that's be a consistent player and winner. That has allowed him to surpass all the PF's that came before him and that is what allows Floyd to join the pantheon of this sport's very best. Respect the greatness. You won't see it again anytime soon.

    Yes sir. The big fundamental.

Duncan uses the glass and body position like Floyd controls distance, rolls and slips.

Honestly I'd compare him to Jordan. Duncan has always been consistent true, but always rather dull. Floyd started off explosive like a young MJ and became more calculating as he aged and couldn't rely on his athleticism alone. He's a complete fighter. Defense, Infighting, outside, good jab, amazing punch variety, etc. The guy can do it all like MJ. And to think he has brittle hands and isn't the most powerful guy. That's elite level skill a la Jordan.

Isnt the most talented? Isnt most athletic?

Are you high? He's by far the most talented/athletic fighter in the sport....at 38 he's moving better than 28 year olds....

You do remember he's 38 right? Did Roy move like that at 38?

I'd say Duncan with a little Hakeem Olajuwon.

Amazing footwork, supreme defender and the ability to make his peers look silly.

I mean a prime Floyd bro. RJJ is THE most talented fighter I have ever seen. More talented than Floyd for sure. HOWEVER, Floyd's talent along with his work ethic and fundamentals allowed him to be a much better fighter than Roy in the long run. Like Tim Duncan to KG.
