While it's possible that Pac had an injury, it doesn't look good on them to have stated that this late. I acknowledge that fans wouldn't have loved to hear the underdog being injured. I also acknowledge that Arum and crew probably assumed that, given that they were allowed to use the medication before, they'd get to do it on fight night without having to disclose a reason. Also, 90 minutes before the fight affords them the right at least to not seem like that were creating the excuse on the fly [as a response to losing].

I think in the future it shouldn't matter when the injury is reported if it is substantiated by hard, legitimate evidence. I have a feeling that it was not in this case, given the NSACs hard put down.

That being said, while I'd like to believe this story matters a lot, it feels like the crew is a bit salty about the loss. If the injury was as serious as they suggest, it'd be unlikely that Pac could have performed basically at all. True or not, the performance on Saturday demonstrated why the fight needed to happen 5 years ago, that Freddie Roach is an overrated trainer who removed quality members of the camp to the detriment of his fighters, and that Mayweather is the better boxer.

You are categorically wrong, from the article. They knew about the shots. They say they didn't know the particulars of the injury itself.

Can you recall one single occasion in which a training injury has been revealed going into a big fight, on such an occasion as the fight was not postponed?

        I can't.

I guarantee they let mayweather take his xylocaine shots in his knuckles before the fight like they do every fight.
This is what i have a problem with, the fact that THEY KNEW he was injured already but because of a paperwork snafu they rejected treatment is bs.... I would have pulled out from the fight...

Morons.... aRUM and company should have known better.

Thank you again for displaying your low IQ. I'll be back on my way to driving my $100,000 car while you and your "homies" worship Floyd on your breaktime at Walmart. cheers!

So unprofessional by arum and rest of pacquaios team

                      Amateurish

They should have made sure they would be allowed a shot prior to the fight days before fight night

On second thought, it might not have just been negligence. It was a case of trying to be too clever. Making sure no-one knew of the injury or worried that the fight would be called off which it likely wouldn't have been .

Mayweather fought jlc with the same injury.
