Oh, so we are going with excuses again. That's nice. There was no sign of a problem with Manny during the fight. Well other then Floyd that is. If you fight, there are no excuses.Comment

LAS VEGAS - Manny Pacquiao said late Saturday night that he dealt with a right shoulder injury during training and it impacted his fight against Floyd Mayweather.

And Mayweather later said he plans to relinquish all his title belts Monday. He said his final fight in September will be a 12-rounder but will not be for a championship.

"Other fights need a chance," Mayweather said and clarified that it might take him a couple weeks to make the move.

Earlier, Pacquiao said an MRI showed he had a tear in his shoulder, something that was not mentioned to the media until after his loss.

"I don't want to make alibis," he said.

Pacquiao said he requested a pain-killing injection before the fight, but Francisco Aguilar of the Nevada Athletic Commission said he turned down the request because the injury had not been disclosed until shortly before the fight.

Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, said a request for a postponement briefly was considered but he did not feel it was needed because of the progress Pacquiao had made.

Mayweather said he also had injuries during training but did not let them bother him.

"I will always find a way to win," Mayweather said.

Mayweather also said that, had he lost, he would not have used his injuries as an excuse and would have paid respect to Pacquiao.
