he has some ugly losses on his record. yeah he was green but ultimtely when it comes down to separating good and great you have to look at a fighters entire body of work. losing to shufford and entienne and probably losing once or twice in the future to not so great fighters doesent make for the best resume. imagine if ali had lost to zora foley and jurgen blinn who were probably much better than either shufford or entienne.

he'll never be a great fighter skill wise per se, he is limited on obvious areas.

plus the biggest win of his entire career is and probably always will be wladamir klitschko who is not a great fighter, and hed probably get his ass kicked by him in a rematch which would make his biggest win not so big.

Give the guy a chance he is on his way and working on that. You can't buy respect you have to earn that. A couple of victories against named rated opponents and I'm sure he'll be considered a serious contender for the top spot.

His destiny lies in his own hands, he needs to keep on winning and impresively at that.

you've never been so right, his destiny is in his own hands and he has chosen to defend his title against a guy who is not even in the recognized top ten and i think hes rated 10th by the WBO which doesent rank half the good guys anyhow.

somehow i dont think that if wladmir klitschko had won the title from lamon brewster that night that he would have made his defenses against such bull**** opposition

I'm not sure he will be great. I do know he is a nice change of pace in the division. A nice guy, a humble guy and oh yeah KO power doesn't hurt. He seems to fly under the radar screen and thats ok. I think he is the best heavyweight out there. With a combonation of power, heart and chin, he will be a fan favorite soon. He needs to get a big fight and I think that will happen after Wlad beats Byrd.
Brewster beats Wlad to unify then defends against Peter...how sweet will those fights be?

I seriously doubt he will be considered a great hw at the end of his career but he does have a chance to be considered one of the best of his era.He is now being trained by Buddy Mcgirt which may help him with his boxing skills so he doesn't have to win every fight with a come from behind ko.Brewster KO 6 Serguei Lyakhovich.Go Brewster!!!!!

if he gets to fight the other top guys, i think he has the potential to be considered a great fighter. with mcgirt training him he can be a monster. i think he beats anybody in the division right now

maybe so, but where the heck is that guy? i don't know if there is anybody in the division right now that fits that criteria. that's the problem.
