Why Mayweather vs Cotto 2 next makes all the sense in the world.

Let me first start off by pointing out I was completely wrong about this fight, I though Pacquaios volume and speed would be too much for this fight. The one thing I overlooked at ultimately was the deciding factor is that Mayweather was basically able to control the distance to the point where he almost shut Pacquaio completely down. Mayweather catapulted himself tonight in my eyes, theres no boxer active today that can even come close to him at the moment.

Miguel Cotto was the last man to give Mayweather a real close tough fight(much closer than Maidana 1), theres a reason why Floyd didn't give the immediate rematch like he always does in tough fights. Cotto had the jab, the movement, and the size/strength to bull Mayweather around the ring. At 160 Cotto will be even bigger and stronger and has shown vastly improved footwork under Freddie Roach.
This fight makes all the sense in the world because 1. Cotto is the middleweight champion of the world. 2. It gives Mayweather the chance to be the lineal champion of 3 weight divisions at the same time. He would become a six 6 division world champion and retire as 'the' lineal champion of welterweight, super, and middleweight at the same time. This after defeating the fighter of the decade(2000-2010). What a way to go out that would be, talk about a cherry on top

Most people will say you're wrong, you're not. This fight makes a lot of sense, I agree. Cotto's jab is heavier and it reaches Floyd much easier than Manny's straight left. He also knows how to cut off the ring and has the strength to keep Floyd there.

I picked him to lose the first time but be Floyd's toughest fight. I think he would win a rematch, Roach would have him in better condition. Not to mention bigger gloves favor Cotto as opposed to the 8 oz WW's use and well... the proof is in the pudding. Cotto landed at a higher percentage than Manny, I'd pay $100 too again because I'm a damn fool.

Cotto at 160lb certainly has a better chance than Manny. I think it's easily the biggest money fight out there for Mayweather & the highest reward too. Beating Thurman or Khan does nothing for his career
