Unbeaten Floyd Mayweather paid tribute to his father and his opponent Manny Pacquiao after his dominant victory in Las Vegas.

The 38-year-old put on a tactical masterclass taking a unanimous decision 118-110 116-112 116-112 on the judges scorecard to go 48-0.

"First off I want to thank God for this victory, all the fans that came to Las Vegas and all the fans all over the world," Mayweather said in the ring after the fight. "He's a hell of fighter, he's one of the guys at the pinnacle in sport of boxing

"I know he was going to push me, he had moments in the fight, but I wasn't getting hit with a lot of shots.

One more curtain call. You've had a stellar career champ. I wonder who he'll fight next...

Good riddance. The sport will be better off with you gone. You killed boxing tonight.

Pay credit where credit is due... Mayweather is a great defensive fighter one of the best...an all time great..but he's no Ali..he's no prize fighter...he's a glorified runner with supreme defensive skills, who has picked he's opponents wisely....he may have shown he's a very good boxer..but he's never taken chances to show he loves his fans....it's a good thing he has a big mouth or he wouldn't have sold his fights.....i hope he retires now...he's a total disappointment...from Oscar Delahoya to Maidana...

Brook is the most logical option right now. Unification fight.

Floyd, you fought just good enough to get by for the night, nothing special in the way you fought manny.., yes, you did enough to win, but I sincerely hope up and coming generations of boxers don't emulate your style... Super duper defensive, jolting backwards like halfway across the ring sometimes, and just general back pedaling/ lack of engaging. If PAC would've threw those 7,8,9 punch combos things might've been different, used his angles and cut off ring instead of waiting on floyd to initiate... Though I fear floyd has already set a blueprint for fighters on how to work the system, which means be picky, fight defensive enough to where punch output/aggression is almost non exist ant, and don't give a crap if fans (who are the ones paying your bills), enjoy your fights (except in hopes that you'll lose)...
