I didn't think it was that awful but it's a damn tidal wave of negativity everywhere I look. Maybe it doesn't matter much either way but it's sad to see boxing getting trashed like this.

        He's right.

Floyd's greatest genius isn't in the ring.

Its being able to sell his fights despite having such a god awful boring style, especially for the casual fan.

          exactly

there have been other fighters with such a style but they were eventually pressured into changing it up to get any attention or make any money

floyd at some point figured out that acting ridiculous and flaunting his wealth and associating with music people was a much healthier way to get ratings than brawling

hes a great boxer, a great great boxer, tons of talent, but man i hope its a long time before we see another fighter than boring at the top of the sport

Took the words outta my mouth. this is coming from the guy that paid Lewis a five figure sum NOT to fight him, then served up a jobber's performance years later after a big, crazy build up.

Before fight: "I'm gonna eat his heart! I'm gonna eat his children!"

After fight: "If you don't think I love Lewis like a brother, you're crazy. You're crazy"

I do because, Tyson vs Lewis could've happened years before it did but Tyson wanted to fight "Bruth Theldon" and paid to sidestep Lewis. By the time we did get it, it was built up like crazy (stage fights and security guards) and was a huge let down.

Glass houses and stones, Mike. Glass houses and stones.

Man I can kinda agree with Mike. After realizing that Manny had nothing and he was in total control I'm disappointed Floyd didn't start to walk Manny down like he was beginning to against Ortiz before Vic blew his load. If he had done that he could have got a late knockout. remember this was a guy in total control. Shoot Manny is so small Mayweather must've thought he was back at 130 pounds, LOL. He should have Gattied his ass.

And just because Mike laid an egg against Lewis doesn't mean he can't hold an opinion on this fight.

Why would it be up to Manny? He wasn't the one totally dominating the fight. Floyd can knockout out dudes he is dominating, I have seen him do it plenty of times. Why not this time?

I like Manny, but I blame the lack of drama and excitement in this fight solely on him.

We all knew that Floyd was going to box and avoid unnecessary trading, just like he always does.

Manny did not, and maybe could not, do anything to pressure Floyd and make it interesting. That's really the story here.

No reason whatsoever for a rematch. The result would not be different.
