You, my friend, are a completely biased, illiterate moron.
The funniest thing being that you just raved about offense and Mayweather not throwing punches, being just defense and nothing else....BUT....BUT...GET THIS.....
Floyd Mayweather threw more punches than Manny Pacquiao. All that stuff you just said? All flies straight out the window.
Floyd threw more punches all up.
Floyd landed more punches too.
Floyd also got hit with significantly less.
Threw more punches. That's what you said should be the focus right and what should win you the fight? Well,a Floyd threw more, so you've just inadvertently admitted you think Floyd won. Not what you set out to do is it? Haha.
Second; the ring is the same one that has been used by both fighters in many of their previous fights, Pac vs Marquez IV was fought using this ring, and it's a 20 foot ring, not 25 you ******. You're just making **** up. The ring is 24 feet, all up. They fight in the standard 20 foot ring and with a two foot apron. 20 foot ring, 24 foot with apron. Absolutely normal sized ring that Pac has literally fought most of his recent bouts in. It's the exact same ring.
Defense has always been as big a part of boxing as offense. It's just harder to do, so most focus on offense. Boxing at its core is 'hit and don't get hit' in equal measure.
Floyd hit manny and didn't get hit as much in return. That is boxing at its best. If you throw a punch and it misses everything and just hits the air around a fighter, it's no different than having not thrown a punch at all. If it doesn't score, it means absolutely nothing. So all those punches that were missing were as good as if Pac hadn't even thrown them...a missed punch is a useless punch.
You're just full of ridiculous bias, but you don't win fights by missing punches. Mayweather landed more punches. It's that simple. Pac could have thrown 2000 punches, but if a Mayweather still lands more because Pac missed all of them, he might as well have throw only the few he landed, because the others did not land. That means they were not scoring. They were useless. It's not usually a hard concept to grasp for a normal adult.
Floyd won easily. Made Manny look ordinary. IF he manny did really have an injury it would partly explain the low punch output. But manny saying he won? Just terrible. He should give Floyd some kind of credit.
I am convinced that many people here know absolutely nothing about boxing. Mayweather came out flat footed right at the beginning of the fight, established that he was the faster, the bigger, the stronger, the sharper man. Pac was stunned right from the opening bell and looked like a deer in the head lights. It was almost as if during training he was not truly honest about what he would be in the ring with, and the realization hit like a sack of bricks that reverberated through the next 12 rounds.
Mayweather fought large portions of the fight flat footed and even walked pac down for most of the middle rounds, despite the delusional rants of casuals and pac fans who call moving away from some one trying to punch you "running", all the while Mayweather threw more and out landed Pac. However where Pac truly lost the fight was in the 3rd round when he landed a clean punch that seemingly shook Mayweather. When Pac saw how little affect his best punch had on Mayweather, it seemed to have a profound affect on Pac, because after that punch landed Pac became less and less aggressive, and regressed more and more to a timid follow with inactivity, and it seemed he may have accepted his fate at that point.
I will agree on one point with the delusional fan base (a state in which they remain) that Pac was not gun shy due to counters, that is quite simply true, because Mayweather led the entire fight and consistently got off before Pac could. Pac was simply not prepared for the speed of Mayweather, the size of Mayweather; and Mayweathers ability to gain and create ground with one step left Pac confused. When Pac thought Mayweather was out of range he'd catch a solid right, when Pac thought Mayweather was in range he would hit air.
Mayweather was so quick and sharp, that he was able to land a lead right cross to the body consistently, a very dangerous and difficult punch to land.
I certainly can't be mistaken for a Pacquiao fan or a Mayweather hater.
Floyd won the fight but he did it in a cheap way that I don't really respect . He was always a defensive fighter stylistically (which is my favorite kind!) but he has never just straight up avoided fighting. He's used footwork and holding strategically to his advantage in the past. Here he just used it to avoid a real fight and survive.
He was absolutely serious when he said he didn't love Boxing and this was just a business. Also, he was clearly afraid of Pacquaio. In the first three rounds he was terrified, he wasn't even remembering his jab which Pacquaio was right there for. He seemed to stun Pacquaio early with a right but it didn't really give him confidence. He didn't become comfortable until the fifth. But instead of trying to very cautiously out-fight Manny he opted for some very cheap and desperate tactics.
imagine paying 100 bucks to watch that POS running and hugging
lol I don't have to imagine it.
Despite all the criticism of him throughout the years he has never been anything but a smart defensive fighter. I had always found him entertaining. Not so last night.
