I said before the fight, this story of this fight would be Mannys lack of legs and his inability to create angles like he made his name doing.
Thats all we saw. A guy that couldn't move around anymore. More than that, Manny was having trouble pulling the trigger, another sign of old fighter syndrome.
Its really disgraceful that we as fans were treated to a fight between this version of Pacquiao who as I said before, isn't even a shell of himself, and Floyd.
Floyd for his part did excellent, and showed why he is a legitimate great, but it was on show for the entire world how badly fadded Pacquiao is.
Also disgraceful was Kenny Bayless...
He didn't issue a single warning to Floyd for holding, even though he was not just holding, he was refusing to let go even as he tried to pry them apart.
What we did find out is that Pacquiao has the power to hurt Floyd. 5 years ago, I am now convinced that Pacquiao would have won.
Its a shame that we didn't get to see that fight, biggest travesty in the sports history.

I was right.
We were still robbed of watching both fighters compete at their peaks.

Originally posted by !! Shawn View PostIts still highly debatable, mainly because of the way he acquired all of the names on his resume. At the end of their primes. His is a story of careful management, great skills, and good timing.
Its like Leonard vs Duran 2, where Leonard is on record as saying they waited until it was clear Duran was so far out of shape that he wouldn't be able to prepare by the time of the fight before they made it.
He has made a career of moves like that.
Its a shame because maybe he would have still come out on top if he fought all of these fighters when the fights were relevant.
Maybe if he would have fought Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, Kostya Tszyu, etc he would have beaten them all.
Greatest fighter of their generation still goes to Pacquiao, just as greatest fighter of their Generation still goes to Duran, even though he went on to lose to Hagler, Hearns, and Leonard 2 times.
Pacquiao Did Barrera, Morales, Cotto, Margarito, Marquez etc... He fought the tough fights when they were relevant, instead of fake retiring several times to wait for all of the legitimate threats to fight each other and then to come back and fight the left overs.
Although I do give Floyd credit for the win over Canelo, that was good win, but he should have followed that up with other top competition. Not Guerrero, not Maidana, not Ortiz, not moving Marquez up from 135 to 147.
He created a career full of asterisk for himself, like Roy Jones did, but unline Roy, he doesn't have wins over the other two best fighters of his generation in their prime.
Its really sad, and Floyd is going to regret it after he has retired.
The saddest one yet^^^^^^^^^^^, but got a lot to go!

Why are people making excuses for Pac? I wanted him to win as much as the other guy but this is what happens when he fights someone faster than him. Many of us said it... Floyd has the quicker single ****s and most of all the faster mind and reaction time. Pac said it himself...if only he'd have stayed still.
Pacquiao would have done more 5 years ago? Based off what? Beating on come forward fighters?
I love the comments that Floyd waited til pac got older but the irony is how everyone was talking about how Floyd has slowed down including Roach.
And Floyd is older... So that makes zero sense.
Floyd out threw, out landed and landed at a higher percentage. It was sad to see Pac look like a one dimentional fighter with zero adaptability. He looked like an amateur at times... Now I need to find someone else to KO floyd. :/
