No. Fans booed him because of how the fight was marketed... and Mayweather's "Money" persona (he brought that on himself). You can talk about the "running" but if you watch the Pacquiao/Marquez 3 fight, Marquez used plenty of the same lateral movement Mayweather did. He feinted Pacquiao and sometimes there was 2- to 30 seconds where no punches were thrown... only for Marquez to launch an attack. Mayweather took that strategy and perfected it. He is just defensively disciplined than Marquez which is why he won and easier. How can someone who ran throw more punches and land double what their opponent did? Mayweather was right in front of Pacquiao many times (in the first round he came right and attacked), but Pacquiao just couldn't capitalise because he'd already tasted the straight right, then he kept falling for the check-hook counter over and over again.
Stop making this "Pacquiao was too small to compete" excuse. He's competed against taller boxers and ones with as long a reach (DLH, Margarito, Algeri Mosley....). They just weren't Mayweather. Marquez is the closest to that boxing style Pacquiao faced and he never completely conquered it.
Finall, I do get it can be frustrating when Mayweather doesn't do more and "put on a show". But you have to remember this guy already paid his dues and put on those types of displays on his way to the top (and at the top if you look at fights like Hatton and Mosley). Winning is what matters now that he already gets the highest numbers and is on his way out. It's up to the opponent to make him fight (as Maidana and Cotto did) and beat him if they can. Pacquiao just couldn't do it, for all the talk coming from his team.
