No. Fans booed him because of how the fight was marketed... and Mayweather's "Money" persona (he brought that on himself). You can talk about the "running" but if you watch the Pacquiao/Marquez 3 fight, Marquez used plenty of the same lateral movement Mayweather did. He feinted Pacquiao and sometimes there was 2- to 30 seconds where no punches were thrown... only for Marquez to launch an attack. Mayweather took that strategy and perfected it. He is just defensively disciplined than Marquez which is why he won and easier. How can someone who ran throw more punches and land double what their opponent did? Mayweather was right in front of Pacquiao many times (in the first round he came right and attacked), but Pacquiao just couldn't capitalise because he'd already tasted the straight right, then he kept falling for the check-hook counter over and over again.

Stop making this "Pacquiao was too small to compete" excuse. He's competed against taller boxers and ones with as long a reach (DLH, Margarito, Algeri Mosley....). They just weren't Mayweather. Marquez is the closest to that boxing style Pacquiao faced and he never completely conquered it.

Finall, I do get it can be frustrating when Mayweather doesn't do more and "put on a show". But you have to remember this guy already paid his dues and put on those types of displays on his way to the top (and at the top if you look at fights like Hatton and Mosley). Winning is what matters now that he already gets the highest numbers and is on his way out. It's up to the opponent to make him fight (as Maidana and Cotto did) and beat him if they can. Pacquiao just couldn't do it, for all the talk coming from his team.

WOW! I'm very happy that the fight happened, it was a great fight I thought in the sense that it was highly technical. Great win for Mayweather, he can be called the best fighter of this generation! Pacquiao did well I'm still a fan of him, I want to see Pacquiao in a few more fights he's a legend still!

Floyd won and cong**** to him but I am a lil disappointed. Floyd could have beat Pacquiao more dominately but he chose to win on points. Props to pacquiao though because he was trying to bring the fight to Floyd but Floyd used his advantages well. Floyd had Pacquiao hurt a couple of times and so did Manny. This fight could have been more exciting but wasn't. I think Floyd should definitely retire after his next fight.

[QUOTE=!! Shawn;15633980]All this fight confirmed is what I said from the beginning, Floyd is TBE at picking the exact moment when a formerly great fighter no longer has it.

I said before the fight, this story of this fight would be Mannys lack of legs and his inability to create angles like he made his name doing.

Thats all we saw. A guy that couldn't move around anymore. More than that, Manny was having trouble pulling the trigger, another sign of old fighter syndrome.

Its really disgraceful that we as fans were treated to a fight between this version of Pacquiao who as I said before, isn't even a shell of himself, and Floyd.

Floyd for his part did excellent, and showed why he is a legitimate great, but it was on show for the entire world how badly fadded Pacquiao is.

                    Also disgraceful was Kenny Bayless...

He didn't issue a single warning to Floyd for holding, even though he was not just holding, he was refusing to let go even as he tried to pry them apart.

What we did find out is that Pacquiao has the power to hurt Floyd. 5 years ago, I am now convinced that Pacquiao would have won.

Its a shame that we didn't get to see that fight, biggest travesty in the sports history.[/QUOTE

Woooow...Let the BS excuses begin. Now Manny is "badly faded" but I heard NO ONE saying that nonsense prior to this bout. Not against Rios, Bradley 2, or Algierri. Let's keep it 100 here, he looked avg b/c he fought the best PURE boxer of his generation. Leading up to this fight it was Manny's speed & power...He's gonna knock Floyd out..Blah, blah, blah but you base none of this on actual boxing knowledge....So all of a sudden, you're gonna KO a fighter who's just as fast with his hands/feet, has BETTER accuracy & timing along with maybe the best defense boxing has seen. C'mon yo...PAC couldn't KO or soundly beat Marquez in his prime but he was going to "destroy" Mayweather??? That even sounds ridiculous when you say it out loud. BTW... five...six years ago would've produced the same results. Floyd is no where near a shell of himself but he has slowed somewhat. Five yrs ago he would've been quicker, even sharper reflexes, and more offensive minded with Uncle Roger at the helm...So stop whining and trying to make excuses...And appreciate last nights 'sparring session' for what it was.....Light work

Congratulations to Mayweather on his victory over Paquiao, he fought a smart fight like I knew he would. He used his timing and his legs when to get away from Paquiao offense, and he made Paquiao fight his fight. I'm a fan of both fighters, and it was cool to see them finally in the ring together. I scored the fight 117 to 111 for Mayweather.
