Did Maidana ruin Broner?

I think Broner had shown plenty of flaws before Maidana and shown he wasn't really an elite fighter or ever would be.

As someone pointed out, he wanted to be a big PPV fighter, undefeated like Floyd. He simply just isn't that good. There's no shame in that, not everybody can be Floyd Mayweather in terms of skill or be superstar PPV fighters like Floyd and Manny.

While it's good to want to be at that level and i admire those that do, it's no secret Broner doesn't even live right between fights. You can't just say you want greatness and expect it to happen and people to believe it. You have to make the sacrifices and dedicate your life to it and Broner has never done that and thats why he was found out quickly.

He's just not an elite PPV superstar fighter. Never has been and never will be but he's still a good fighter and i think will beat some good names in his career, but lose fights too....and that's fine.

Maidana is the A-Level checker, you aint gonna get passed this dude unless you are A-level talent and even then its a 50/50 hard fight.

I agree with that. Maybe not throughout his career but i think Maidana under Garcia, i believe you're right.

I don't think so. Broner had arguably already lost before Maidana. Jumping weight classes is the biggest mistake he has made in his career so far. He was not a welterweight and it cost him his unbeaten record. Maidana was just in the right place, at the right time.

No just exposed him, he's the exact same fighter being matched better with easier fights

I was actually going to make a thread "Where would Broner be if he had beaten Maidana?" This guy has basically wasted 2 years of his career(other than being paid good money) to fight people without even a chance of beating him.

I don't know how much Haymon believes in Broner. He knows Broner ****s around too much when he doesn't have a fight scheduled.

He's a risky investment who can produce a lot of revenue. Hard to see him beating the other top fighters in any type of easy fashion.

B-Hop thinks Maidana took 3 years off Broner's career.

Maybe ruined but more than likely simply exposed. Look at the four boxers he has fought since then, it screams overprotection. He has not looked great beating them either.
