Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Aims To Be Back in July or August

BoxingScene.com caught up with WBA "regular" middleweight champion Danny Jacobs (29-1) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Tuesday afternoon. The cancer survivor was taking in Floyd Mayweather's "Grand Arrival" for his showdown against Manny Pacquiao that takes place Saturday on HBO/Showtime pay-per-view.

Jacobs was last in the ring this past Friday when he successfully defended his title against Caleb Truax. Jacobs was well ahead on the cards when he hurt and finished off Truax in the 12th round. The Brooklyn, NY native said that he wanted to go 12 full rounds but saw the opportunity to put an exclamation point on his victory and went for it.

Seems like Jacobs-Quillin is a natural, hope we don't get them on the same card but kept apart and instead fighting disappointing opposition.

Glad to hear Danny's going to stay active and finally be fighting real fights (for his level). I'd be fine if he fought Sergio Mora next then Quillin if he's staying at MW. Sharing trainers with Khytrov & Derevyanchenko means he'll never fight those guys but Lara or Matirosyn could happen.

This guy has been through some major adversity in his life... hard not to root for him if it doesn't work out in the ring for him he can go to broadcasting Jacobs does a decent job as a commentator.

DJ is supremely talented but I have to see how he deals with things not going his way. I want nothing more than for him to succeed though.
