I know it's wildly off-topic, but race is actually supposed to be a term used to describe the social matrix in which a person was raised. Ethnicity is the color of the person's skin, and heritage is the nations that the person's ancestor's came from. I have a friend who's gonna be a social worker.

** Race is a valid term used all around the world. Anthropoligists may debate it, but it exists as long as human history has. Ethnicity is a combination of race, culture, and religion. Social science is to science as Astrology is to science, ie pretty much worthless.
