It's kind of Floyd's thing to where the opposing boxers flag to agitate or respect the country they belong to. Pretty much the media will make it out for whatever they want too, and in most cases Floyd likes it to be controversial. But the fact that he is flat out saying that there is no disrespect behind it for this fight should be taken into consideration. Floyd is trying to make this fight about just him and Manny, with the best man coming out as the winner. He like many others aren't trying to paint this out to be any sort of symbolic meaning to anything outside of himself and Manny fighting Saturday. This is what it is, two greats coming to meet at the center of the ring to decide who is the "best". Win lose I think Floyd has redeemed himself and I think Floyd has already turned over a new leaf in the wake of this fight. I don't know how Floyd will react if he ends up winning, but I get the feeling that this humble "front" everyone thinks Floyd is putting on is just the first time we are seeing him comfortable in his own skin. It makes a great story for Manny Pacquiao entering Sin City to challenge the narcissist, Mayweather himself, in the biggest showdown we have ever seen, characterizing the epitome of good versus evil. I'm sure as time goes on we will remember this fight as such. But the fact is Floyd is playing down his ego big time in the media for whatever reason and the truth of the matter is watching two household names make their rendezvous with destiny.

Floyd is full of it when he says he doesn't get nervous before a fight. He wouldn't be human if that was the case. Even Tyson admitted he had fear before a fight. But there is nothing wrong with that. Once the first punches are thrown those butterflies in the stomach go out the window.Comment

Tbh, I don't think he's trolling either. If you take away his "persona," I think you'll just find a guy who just wants to be liked (not just by mostly black Americans, but worldwide). He wants to win over some more Filipino fans, even if most are rooting for Pacquiao.Comment

Simple mind games, only the weakest minded girl would fall for it.
If he had a t-shirt with a tsunami splashing over the flag and saying "F the Phillipines" thats a different matter, but as it is, a lot of so-called boxing fans are emotional like women over nothingComment
