Comments Thread For: Roach: Pacquiao Helped Design Mayweather Game Plan

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada - Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach dropped an interesting tidbit on Tuesday when he met with the media along with his fighter Manny Pacquiao and Top Rank CEO Bob Arum.

Pacquiao returns on Saturday night against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a WBA/WBC/WBO welterweight unification at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Roach said that for the first time, Pacquiao asked to watch film with him and that they worked on the game plan for the fight together. Roach said that the 36-year-old Pacquiao usually leaves the planning up to him but that he took a more hands on approach to what will be the biggest fight of his career.

Gameplans won't mean anything..I've seen all the footage...Roach & Pacquiao arn't doing anything special...Most of the stuff they've shown relies on Floyd bieng off with his footwork...but seroisly who sees that happening? unless he rolls an ankle like Timothy.

Floyd is the one who will adjust & have the boxing brain advantage AS WELL AS the size advantage

Pacquiao better hope his style gives Mayweather fits and utilize that during the first 6 rounds...if not it will be a classic Mayweather control, adjust and outpoint.

Even if Pacquiao beats the crap out of Floyd I think it's fair to say Floyd still has a much greater ring IQ.

Glad to know they can share in the failure.

You'll give a fck if you're sitting there watching Floyd out maneuver Pacquiao whilst edging consistent late round wins 6 to 12.

All this talk about gameplans but what it really comes down to is Pac landing his nuclear left hand to some effect.

Most of Floyd's opponents gave a fk when they lost heart during the fight because he was just too smart for them.
