On April 4th, Adonis Stevenson (26-1, 21KOs) successfully defended his WBC light heavyweight title by out-pointing Sakio Bika over twelve rounds at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City. His promoter is looking for him to make a relatively quick turn around.
"We are looking for a June date at the Bell Centre but it's not confirmed, yet," said Yvon Michel, the head of GYM. "We have meetings this weekend, we'll know for sure early next week."
As it relates to a possible showdown with WBA/IBF/WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev, Kathy Duva of Main Events has made it very clear that they are willing to sit down and negotiate this fight but not participate in any purse bid that could possibly take this fight off HBO's airwaves.
