With Chagaev fighting in Germany next month defending his WBA regular title against one of their ranked fighters surely it's going to Briggs with his German fanbase? Briggs would be daft not to take this fight.

    The WBA rankings.

    1. VACANT
    2. Bryant Jennings
    3. Fres Oquendo
    4. Lucas Browne
    5. Shannon Briggs
    6. Alexander Povetkin
    7. Tyson Fury
    8. Mark De Mori
    9. Antonio Tarver
    10. Joseph Parker
    11. Vyacheslav Glazkov
    12. Kubrat Pulev
    13. Francesco Pianeta
    14. Anthony Joshua
    15. David Price

Looking at those probably only De Mori offers less of a challenge. For Briggs obviously this would lead to a mando shot at Klitschko.

If you look up mediocre at dictionary.com, they actually have a picture of Chagaev on their site.

I've never been a fan of Chaggy's. He fights infrequently and when he does, his fight are ****in' boring.

Also, why isn't he fighting Browne next? That's a good matchup and will probably be an entertaining fight. Instead, they'll probably get Oquendo and then discover a cure for insomnia.

      The WBA sucks

But you don't deny he has natural talent right ?

He looked his best when he fought and beat Valuev. He's a decent boxer, nothing more. He doesn't do anything that makes him stand out from the other top fighters. I don't know what you see in him.

Why waste your time fighting for the "other" WBA title. Browne should be aiming for the "other-other -WBA" title. There should be a WBA title for every one in the top ten.

their is just no discussing eastern euro fighters with you.

Chagaev against Valuev was a clear and decisive victory over the behemoth, against Povetkin it could be said he matched him equally all the way. Are we gonna deny his undeniable skill and talent for the entire thread or just right now to suit an agenda ie under playing Wladimir's victories over the likes of Thompson and Chagaev, by attempting to make them appear more ordinary and basic skilled like somebody such as Del Chisora ? Your agenda is as transparent as it is in all your comments and threads.
              God you're an idiot.

I mention multiple Eastern Europeans incl multiple Wlad wins as better yet you think I have some sort of agenda. Do you have **** for brains?

Who's mentioning Thompson and Chisora? You are.

I'm talking about current Chagaev and he's not a top 10 fighter, paper belt or not. When Klitschko beat Chagaev he was a solid top 10 fighter who was unbeaten I believe. This is now.

I would pick all of Hughie, Joshua and Arreola to deal with the likes of Chagaev and Charr easily. Which is why Charr was offered to fight Hughie Fury in June.

Thompson is a different cat altogether because of his awkwardness and ability to grind out good wins against guys he's not really supposed to beat. I think he'd beat Chagaev too. But it would be a competitive fight.

I'm an idiot ! And you're the one saying Joshua and Hughie are ranked above guys like Thompson, Oquendo, Chagaev and Charr. And before you mention who have they beat, who have Hughie Fury and Antony Joshua defeated to earn themselves a place in your top thirteen ?

You do have an agenda and it reeks worse than boiled ham. Not only are you trying to undermine literally the entire division with undermining Wladimir's victories, you attempt to goad me with petulant posting like 'Chagaev retired on his stool' like it is some huge disgrace. Peter an actual titlist retired on his stool against Vitali. Jason Gavern who is Deontay Wilder's second best win, retired on his stool, the same Wilder whom you rank so highly above Ruslan. It happens guys retire on their 'stools'. At least I don't talk like I have a 'stool sample' wedged in my throat, unlike yourself.

You so eagerly dismiss Chagaev to strengthen your agenda, as much you so eagerly seek to enhance that of David Haye, and as you try lessen that of Wlad's. 'David Haye took Wladimir the distance etc etc yap yap yap'. Watch the Haye vs Valuev again and try watching Chagaev versus Valuev, you'll be shocked at how easily Chagaev negated the threat of Valuev and took the fight to him right back to him securing a wide unanimous on many scribes and critics cards.

Nice spot of editing there, I'll have to read through it all again now, thanks a bunch.

I'm talking about Chagaev 'in shape' being top 5 or are you too dumb to acknowledge that ? Also this current version I believe to be head and shoulders clearly a top ten.

You rank guys like Hughie, Joshua and Arreola in the top thirteen, I do not. I rank more proven guys who have a history of larger accomplishments to that of young Brits without any at pro level.

Like I said before, their really is no discussing eastern euro fighters with you as it is impossible to get past your bias towatds Brits and blatant dislike of well schooled stand out amateur, heavyweight eastern euro boxers whom turned pro this past couple of decades.

Out of curiosity do you admire any boxers off of the mainland European continent competing at heavy, with the exception of Golota ? who was obviously a top competitor in your eyes as he is on the resume of Lewis.
