infact that might as well be a list of the sports most versatile fighters who can outbox you all night then knock down at will as a finale

    how is that one dimensional?
    the extremes are

rigondeaux is a counter-puncher, that's it, how quick we forget about the fight vs agbeko, and has anyone watched him vs addy? if you dont punch at him, what happens? nothing, because he can't make anything happen, he's a counter-puncher, through and through, can fight defensively, and that's all he does

klitschko, he's a jab jab, occasional left hook, right etc(atleast since steward) as someone has mentioned on here, he's a lead fighter, what else is he effective with? not a counter-puncher, no inside game, he has great footwork and defense like rigo, but that doesn't add dimensions, this is part of the one style, he can fight defensively, but again, since steward that's all he does

the less extremes is a guy like

donaire, sure he's fast, big power and athletic, but he can't create openings, can't cut off the ring, can't fight inside, but he is a great counter-puncher, less one-dimensional than the others but would still consider one-dimensional

don't consider jmm 1 dimentional either... excellent at midrange, and not as bad on the inside aswell (juan diaz fight) though had baby bull possesd power, jmm would've gotten beat up hell of a lot more even with the victory..

rigo has not shown any versatility in his game but then again he really has not been in a fight where he needed to...unlike Floyd (for example) in which he needed to fight on the inside coz he had to...so rigo is the best imo

one of the most well rounded fighters in the game i would say.

mastering the basics to the point where you can win fights with a limited amount of tools doesnt mean you dont have other tools. it just means you are extraordinarily good at the fundamentals with a safe approach to the game.
those really are abilities common to all boxers tho, some are just better than the others, not to define versatility at all....

In fact you don't even have to go that far back, Marquez pressed the action against Bradley and he still managed to fight a highly competitive fight. That's not one dimensional at all, Marquez time and time again has shown that he will fight in areas where he isn't his strongest.
That's a fair point, he does exchange more and I didn't take that into account. I was just looking at it as strictly offense or defense. Solid post.

danny garcia. chin, luck, and gift decisions. his specialty is standing in the middle of the ring and trading hooks. can't think of anything else he's good at.

By that logic since everyone can do everything nobody is one-dimensional...

Everybody can't lead just as effectively as they can counter off of someone else's work. Being able to lead off with single or combination punches as good as he can counter off of someone else's work would definitely put him into the category of having more than one dimension to his game.

I would say Lara, he is just circle, circle, right jab, straight left yet everyone has so much trouble finding a way to do anything about it.

I find GGG one dimensional. But it's a damn good dimension.
