Comments Thread For: Klitschko: No Reason for Rematch With Bryant Jennings

Don’t expect to see a second fight between Wladimir Klitscho and Bryant Jennings anytime soon. The heavyweight champ, who scored a unanimous decision over the previously unbeaten Jennings on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, ruled out a rematch while speaking at the post-fight press conference.

“I don’t think there’s chance for rematch because this fight was not really competitive enough. There was no drama,” Klitschko said. “I don’t think that rematch will be happening.”

Anyone know when the next IBF is mandatory due, and who's on tap for an eliminator? Also, does the WBA even enforce mandatories anymore? Surely they can't force Wladimir to fight that useless sack of shit Chagaev again...

Glazkov earned the shot at the IBF title after he beat Steve Cunningham in an eliminator last month. I'm not sure about the WBA but I pray they don't make the epitome of mediocre Chagaev the mando.

X2...he's right. It wasn't close. Jennings has Ward-tier nuts, but his kung-fu is lacking, sad to say.

I also have to say that Wlad's stock went up a couple of points in my book: he was forced to not win by laying his gigantic body over the back of his opponent til said opponent is exhausted and then KOing him with a giant 1-2 and he won by huge UD anyway and then gave props after.

          Major props to him.

Have always said that the only thing I don't like about Wlad is the way he fights.

With the help of good reffing, that could change.

It was a win, but not a great one. After last nights victory, Wilder and Fury got a slim chance of beating Klitschko. Slim!

absolutely no point in a rematch

the guy won a couple rounds and wlad looked old... but it wasn't even a good fight

he should fight fury/wilder asap before he's 40

All of this, and to be fair I'm not sure anyone other than HBO are calling for a rematch.
