Floyd has fought a carefully selected group of slow-footed plodders since Mosley.

He will be suprised how a little guy like Pac will be able to close the range.

Of course will adjust as always but its a matter of how quickly, how many rounds he gives up and how much damage he takes.

Why cant manny win the fight from a distance? Floyd is not fighting a slow ass fighter with lousy footwork. I said from the beginning that pacquiao's footwork has to be on point for him to win this fight. He needs to use that right hand. He just cant be left handed in the fight.

Fighting at a distance from Manny would mean trying outbox Floyd with jabbing and moving. Nobody in boxing today is beating Floyd that way. Manny needs to get in, land it shots and out quickly but he's always risking those counters. Plus what you're suggesting Manny does is different to how he fights. He just needs to be himself. High workrate, in and out. He's 36, that's all he going to do. If he thinks he can outbox Mayweather from range then he's a fool but i don't think he's that ******.

Also Manny fights in rhythm by bouncing. He has to not let Mayweather figure out his rhythm. One of the way Mayweather controls the pace of a fight is something most people don't notice. He simply touches them with his left hand from distance even on their guard, it's not even a jab really but it makes fighters who fight in rhythm keep resetting themselves and re-start the rhythm and once their rhythm works, he stings them with the right hand and it all starts again, ad infinitum. He has all these little tricks and nuances that people don't notice. These are the things that force fighters to eventually fight at his pace. Manny just needs to do his thing. I'm sure everyone of Manny's camp and fans know that he isn't beating Mayweather in a million years on the outside by jabbing and moving. He needs to get in, high volume of punches and out. He can't stay inside either because he has no inside game. He must control his own distance, not allow it to be controlled but it's easier said than done against Mayweather.

1) that is not his style, and it is not a good idea to change too much before heading into a fight of this magnitude

2) he will be at a significant length disadvantage, against a guy who is extremely technical and extremely precise

Pac has to do what he does best, but this is a stylistic nightmare for him.

Unless Floyd has discovered some immense power which would keep manny off i just see him being over whelmed in many moments of the fight.

Cotto, Maidana & Ortiz, essentially flat footed fighters all had their moments where Floyd was pinned against the ropes. Give Manny that opportunity with lots of ins and outs and Floyd could shoulder roll into something big!

That left is going to connect early and he will look straight at his corner. The look that he will be giving his people will be one that says, "I didn't even see that schit". That's when he will toss all that offensive talk out the window and begin to lose rounds trying to survive.
