It's true. However, you may have noticed that from 2006 to about 2011 or so, assassination attempts were reported on in the Philippines from both political opposition and from ****** insurgents. However, they've stopped.

There could be lots of reasons for this, but I really do think one of the biggest is that Manny is genuinely loved over there like a Nelson Mandela (no offense to Madiba, of course) or a Bob Marley. The man just sort of transcends a lot of the rules that usually apply to public figures. I don't think anyone has the stones to kill Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines, because he gave them their dignity.

Politicians hate him there, they steal from donations from people in America, and Pac said politicians are servants and should provide for the poor and help supply jobs. Pac buys fishermans boats and ****, these politicos want to take all his money.

Roach said he worries about Pac because he feels after Pac retires they might try to assassinate Manny because they look at Manny as a threat to their corrupt system of stealing money.

I think you're over-interpreting Pacquiao's populism message. He's just trying to get elected, and knows how to say the right things. I don't think he'd be unlike any status quo predecessor. He's a fundamentalist born-again Christian for crying out loud! He might be another Ferdinand Marcos, hahah.

I don't doubt that you may ultimately be correct. However, I have been following his tax case in the Philippines (glad to say I can understand tagalog), and I really don't think it's as bad as people on this forum like to think it is. The BIR (the Philippines' IRS) is saying that he essentially paid no taxes on his earnings in 2008 or whenever. Most people in the Philippines seem to understand that the BIR is really overstepping their boundaries, and I think the reason is because they're using Pacquiao as an example to all tax-payers in the Philippines.

And about the leeches, you have to again understand how the peso works, and the disparity between rich and poor in the Philippines. Even the maids have maids in the Philippines. Kinda messed up. Pacquiao is one of the richest Filipinos in the world right now. I don't think he'll be a Joe Louis (might bite my hat on that in a few years, but again, I think he'll be President one day).

You expect the knowitalls of this site to bother doing any sort of research? Hell I put up a video on here of vice documenting a politician from the island who had his entire family assassinated and had to go to the polls with a 100 car entourage. Typical reply "I ain't watching that ****". You can't speak sense on a boxing site bruh, it's one of the things that annoy the fk out of me. People get all their information from headlines and don't bother reading half an article most o the time. Half the people on here are more interested in the gossip than in anything else. It's the number one reason boxing has been considered "the uneducated sport" because sadly enough the vast majority of people who watch or converse about the sport exhibit proof that it is. Just keep an eye out on catch phrases or lingo used, it speaks volumes when the insults can't even be original.

Gonna be a sad day when the other fighter goes broke too... I guess. Ppl tripping over Manny flying his family members to the US, paying for their travel, hotels, food and tickets. Im staying at the MGM and the rooms are going for 1,600 a night. Do the math, it can add up pretty fat. Hey... May has 3 Bugatti and 12 Ghosts. That's around 20M's and y"all trippin over 100 ppl and HIS 2M dollars. LOL. Point is, lets these men enjoy their fortune. Thank God I got my room in Jan when I read on this site that the fight might happen.

Pac sounds a lot like MC Hammer. Great intentions, but the fact is, hiring your entire neighborhood will leave you broke. Unless you hire them to do something that creates its own profit to pay them.
