Pacquiao named Boxer of the Year by Elorde Foundation
Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao was named Boxer of the Year during the 6th Gabriel "Flash" Elorde Awards, abs-cbnNEWS.com learned Sunday.
Pacquiao received the award for scoring a spectacular 10th-round knock out against Erik Morales of Mexico in January.
Pacquiao’s assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez was chosen Local Trainer of the Year, while Freddie Roach received the International Trainer of the Year.
Brian Viloria won the Gabriel Flash Elorde Golden Belt Award for copping the WBC lightflyweight Championship and defending it from former champion Jose Antonio Aguirre.
Former world boxing champ Rolando Navarette also received a special award.
