Heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder got some good news on April 20 or April 21, when doctors told him that his right hand, injured in his title win over Bermane Stiverne in January, is now good for fighting again.
Wilder is still hoping to be back in the ring come June, he told BoxingScene.com.
“I promised people once I became a champion that I want to be an active champion. That’s what I plan on doing,” Wilder said on April 24. “I plan on getting maybe three fights out of this year. We’re going to try to fill them in somewhere. It all depends on each fight, of course, but that’s my idea. I want to keep active. I want to keep the fans hungry. I don’t want them to get full. I want them to stay hungry each and every time.”
