    Comments Thread For: Bryant Jennings Unfazed By Odds, Public Perception

    NEW YORK – Bryant Jennings isn’t bothered by the odds that heavily favor Wladimir Klistchko as their heavyweight title fight nears.

    The hulking Ukrainian champion is about a 14-1 favorite over Philadelphia’s Jennings (19-0, 10 KOs), who has boxed for just six years combined as an amateur (one year) and pro (five years).

    “I don’t care about that,” Jennings, 30, said. “I always like to be the underdog.”

    Bryan is just another safe bet for Vladimir. Don't know how Jennings plan on losing but he ain't taking no azz whooping (that he knows that Klitsko is bringing for him all the way from the Ukraine).Vlad is the giant spanking machine is search of an azz. Any azz will do.

      It will take a giant sized Mike Tysontostop the Klitsko era. I thought Tyson Fury but his mouth is more ferocious than his fist so is there another? Wilder..? Ehh.. too wild with his punches and not the devasting knockout artist. Is there another

        People keep bringing Joshua but what has he done or beat? I can't see anyone in the division who can beat him now. The guys people mention are too green and would get blown out. If kudryashov can gain 20 pounds without hindering himself, he has a shot.

          Jennings will get kayoed.

          The real fights are waiting in Fury, then Wilder for unification next year. Then Vlad will likely retire.

            Joshua is the real heir to Vladimir, not an opponent of Vladimir.

                  If Jennings tries to fight inside, this is going to end quickly for him.

                    I'm insanely excited for this fight tonight (get to see in live at MSG). However, I have a feeling I can perfectly predict how it plays out;

                    Rd1: Very little engagement, lots of set ups. Gauge each others reactions and flinching tendencies.
                    Rd2: Klitch will catch Bryant with a solid right, but won't follow up, instead just seeing how By-By weathers.
                    Rd3: Jennings is going to start to feel the pressure of the moment build on him and be a little over aggressive, which Wlad is going to just counter the whole time.
                    Rd4: Feeling confident Klitch is going to hang back, and Bryant will be reluctant to fully commit.
                    Rd5: The Dr is going to start really opening up with his jab, trying to get Bryant to feel flustered.
                    Rd6: KO before we're half way finished with the round.

                    As a huge fan of Jennings, I genuinely hope this doesn't happen - but realistically, this is a "Welcome back to America" tune up fight for Klitschko. I was shocked when I heard about this being signed, I thought Jennings was at least two more years away from being any kind of threat to a belt...and having recently rewatched that Perez fight, I'm feeling pretty ambivalent about Jennings even being a 14-1 underdog.

                    Still, nothing like seeing a title fight, so bring it on! Wooooo.
