Just because there's no rematch clause, doesn't mean it won't be a rematch

      Nice Take, Amigo!!!

There's really no need for one in this case. Those two are each others best options by far so if they want to fight again, they will fight again.

Pacquiao didn't accept the rematch clause. Should Mayweather have demanded it and walked away from the fight?

Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao revealed he opted not to have a rematch clause in his upcoming fight with Floyd Mayweather because he wants to next time control negotiations should the American, if he loses, call for another bout in the future.

“Ayoko lang ng clause rematch kasi siya ang demanding ngayon e. Kapag may clause rematch, pati yung rematch siya pa rin mag-de-demand,” Pacquiao told News5 chief Luchi Cruz-Valdes in an interview. “Let’s say walang clause rematch tapos nanalo ako at gusto niya ng rematch, ako ngayon ang magiging demanding.”

It is no secret that Mayweather has claimed himself as the “A side” during the megafight negotiations and had the say on almost all of the bout terms — from the May 2 date, the purse split in his favor to the drug testing, once a point of contention, that the Filipino has agreed to take.

Mayweather was even the one who made the announcement last weekend that the fight will push through.

Despite the lack of a sure rematch, Pacquiao denied that he will outright retire following his fight with Mayweather.

“‘Di ko naman sinasabing mag-re-retiro ako after this fight,” he said. “Depende. I-a-announce ko naman yan ‘pag mag-retiro na ako.”

Pacquiao took a break from his training on Tuesday after paying respects to his grandmother who died.

He will return to Manila on Wednesday to suit up for Kia Carnival, where he serves as their playing coach, in their game against Talk ‘N Text before flying to the United States to continue his preparations.
