Considering Dirrell barely beat the very basic Bika, whose main asset is durability, this wasn't too surprising. Dirrell has been overrated by some...Anthony for sure anyway.
At this rate Groves will probably get the belt but I'm not convinced DeGale can beat Andre.Comment

Solid win for Jack especially after that disaster against Edwards but man the WBC strap has been on a merrygoround of mediocrity lately.Comment

Theres a bunch of mediocrity in the realm of boxing 'champions' these days. Think about how many so called 'champions' have been protected by their promoters who build up their fighter as something he's not. It's not always like that, but it's still pretty common place. It doesn't help when there's 4 or 5 major belts floating around. And then you throw those ****** 'super' versions of some belts or the 'silver' or whatever they're called, and now you're just confused as to who to call the real champion of a division.
Then you have a divison with a monster who almost cleaned house and is missing a couple of belts, but he's clearly top dog in the divison. Along comes a fringe contender who goes up against the one 'champion' who has the one belt the monster in the divison is missing. And he probably grabbed a vacated title in the previous year. Then the fringe contender beats the pretend champion, and now he's called a 'champion.' Boxings weird these days.Comment

America hates Dirrell
Americans hate the Dirrells and root against them. Badou was cheered on by the whole USA against the despised hated Dirrell. Dirrels have no fans no ticket sales. OWN TV is next the Oprah Network. zero ratings. maybe even Al jeezera TV?Comment

The belts really don't matter to fans who are in the know and follow the sport watching all of these obscure fights. GGG could have no belts and I would still which I currently do consider him THEE MW champion, IDC if Cotto beat a crippled Sergio but props to him for the good business decision.
Remember when Jermaine Taylor was making his comeback? Last year in October he fought Sam Soliman for IBF. Sam was winning the fight when he injured his knee and was a one legged fighter for half the fight. All Jermaine had to do was land solid and Sam went down. Wasn't even hurt by the punch, just was off balance cuz he was crippled. Fight was a joke and Jermaine still couldn't get Sam into any real trouble in that fight despite having a bum leg.Comment
