Rewatched Pirog v Jacobs. Do you think this guy could have beaten Genedy golovkin? He was so slick, very exciting style. Will he ever come back?

They were reportedly set to fight each other at that moment, but Pirog retired due to his back injury. He's in promoting or something.

Always thought he was going to be the next big thing & the Jacob performance confirmed it.

                Shame about the back injury

I think he had a chance to beat Golovkin as well. He was still honing his defense though. He made Jacobs miss a lot, but Jacobs also landed enough to win rounds. I thought Jacobs took the first, third, and fourth. I thought Pirog was still feeling him out a bit to see what he had. I know that hard low blow seemed to light a fire though. Pirog took him out immediately after.

Healthy Pirog is the only guy at 160 who would have a chance to beat GGG.
Don't think we will ever see healthy Pirog again.

Yeah, a shame. I don't think he fought healthy again post Jacobs. That back was always bothering him. He really threw it out of wack while training for the Golovkin fight. I think a healthy Pirog would have beaten Golvokin.
