You're thinking about New Testament God, in essence a ******* socialist who said things like "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor". The sort of man who wouldn't make it that far on the speaking circuit in the bible belt today.

Old Testament God on the other hand was all about fucking people up, especially if they had the nerve to be from a different tribe or nation to you: "The Lord is a man of war" - Exodus 15:3

But ultimately I don't think that's even got much to do with it. Evangelicalism is just a weird cultural system that puts a premium on very public displays of religious fervour. They look batshit crazy to anyone outside of that system. But then they should. Even the evangelicals themselves can see how crazy it is when they see people from a different religion doing the same thing.

I've personally been around religious nuts so this doesn't bother me.

Ever heard if Igelsia ni Christo?

Thanks to them i know how big heaven is and what's inside of it (2/3rds the size of America and 250 foot walls if you care)

      Culture difference, oh well

Boring, tiresome, and played out. That's my take on Manny's religious role. It really has no place in boxing other than maybe showing love and appreciating God after a fight. I liked Pac more when he was doped up and flowing through less than stellar opponents because he simply wasn't as boring.

Kinda of annoying. Just saw the espn thing when he says he's gonna show how God can bring someone from nothing to something. And God will deliver floyd into his hands. Sure follow your religion or whatever but at a point it just gets too silly. Just like the ghost saying God put him here to humble floyd. Give me a break

Yeah, last time god sent someone (Guerrero) to beat Floyd, Floyd had one of the easiest nights of his career haha, didn't even break a sweat.

It's not just about doing good. It's also about thanking and acknowledging God..
