Comments Thread For: Frampton: Kiko Martinez Will Likely Chin Scott Quigg

IBF super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton is picking Kiko Martinez to score a knockout win over Scott Quigg, the WBA's "regular" champion, on July 18th. Quigg (30-0-2, 22 KOs) is reportedly facing Kiko Martinez (32-5, 24 KOs), the former IBF champion, at the Manchester Arena.

Frampton has faced Martinez twice - scoring a knockout in the first meeting and winning a twelve round unanimous decision over him last year.

Another opponent who was kicked around was Nonito Donaire. The Filipino Flash is already booked to fight on July 18th, but in Macau - which made him unavailable for the contest, but open to face Quigg later in the year.

lol , no way would joe gallagher pick kiko, no way! Although there needs to be a guy on the smith ward card that is capable of winning, is it good for british boxing to see paul smith splattered every fight?

I like Kiko, can't see Quigg doing much with him.

kikos got zero handspeed and trudges forward but atleast he rotates into his punches all i see from quigg is cleverly type wide stance arm punches, too stiff, not good on the backfoot. Other than being super fit I dont realy see much technique, yeah he ko'd a bantamweight, and otake who luckily for quigg had no backfoot game, I can see joe gallagher painstainkingly trying to find a guy with 10% ko ratio down at superflyweight with no trainer and on 3 fight losing streak to bring in. wouldnt be suprised if they bring in that usman ahmed guy who got ko'd by ashley sexton.

There was a good point raised on the NutHouse podcast about importing South Americans or foreigners in general who are over the hill/padded records to UK, so it's about time we sent some the other way lol.
