Lame, I can't copy from the article but I can't believe the WBC actually put this line in the statement:

"It is turly regrettable that Monroe has taken this decision; however the WBC will certainly cover him with life insurance and medical expenses, as he is fighting in a WBC championship bout."

As in he is fighting GGG not the for the title lol.

the thing is why would he show up for them if they took the mando shot off the table anyways even if he does show up..he doesnt ant a interm belt if he wins all the others..then he has to wait a year to face cotto or fight a mando that the wbc gives him...ITS BS

Because paying the WBC is a waste to him. He knows he won't get Cotto, why pay the extra sanctioning fee for something that isn't even a real title?

wbc protecting cotto again. they know monroe will win and don't want monroe to school cotto(a certainty) so they can setup cotto-canelo and freeze out monroe.

Well Monroe is a healthy man with good legs so it would not be a good business decision for Cotto to fight him also considering the boxing lesson Monroe gave to a man who as you mention is capable of exploding other men's ears.

He can not become the mandatory or interim champion because HE has chosen not to submit to the 30 day and 7 day weigh-ins. As that is a WBC safety requirement to make sure a fighter does not have to drain himself too quickly to make weight, he will not be eligible to win their interim title.

It is not that the WBC removed his ability to become the interim champion first and as a result he decided not to abide by their rules.
