Algieri was stripped of it when he fought Pacman. Crawford/Algieri was originally supposed to be the fight - for Algieries vacant title. But that didn't happen, since Algieri had other plans. Crawford having been the WBO champion at 135 was promised a WBO title shot should he move up to 140.. It was vacant, so vuallah.

I'm curious about his power now. His KO percentage isn't bad at 69% and he has stopped Gamboa and Dulorme, but Prescott, Klimov, Beltran and Burns all took him the distance.

Looking towards a potential Matthysse clash, I think if Matthysse can take Crawford's power he can beat him because he doesn't have much trouble cutting off the ring and imo he already beat movers in Judah, Alexander and Peterson.
