No, we just don't want to see a referee spoil what could be a great fight. 'In-fighting' is just as much a part of boxing than is fighting on the outside - for a ref to out-and-out prohibit it, kind of spoils things. Bayless and Luis Pabon both have reffed fights where virtually no in-fighting is allowed.

the ref is so crucial to boxing nowadays. if a fighter knows he can do certain illegal things without being punished he's going to do those things to increase his chances of winning(while making the fight boring). that's why the selection of a ref is also just as crucial. unfortunately they messed up for boxing fans by allowing a guy who won't enforce certain rules like clinching(or they succeeded if you are on team floyd by getting the guy they wanted)

how would floyd clinching help manny? get real. clinching helps floyd because it stops manny from throwing punches. the same way it helped floyd in the second maidana fight.

floyd clinching helps manny because after the break manny is now close enough to do his 3-4 punch flurry and get out of there he doesn't have to take punches now to get close enough to try and land his flurries before jumping out

sorry dude you aren't making sense. a fighter clinching manny helps manny? no just no. manny doesn't want to be clinched because he can't get off punches when someone is holding him. doesn't matter if its a quick break or not. clinching is bad for manny and good for floyd. its also illegal but bayless never read the rules.

dude do you know how process works for picking refs and judges? The commission gives each team a list of people they pick who they want turn it in and whoever they agreed on makes final cut for commission to pick the commission makes they choice lets fighters camps know and if they have an issue with a selection they can protest obviously no one had a problem with the selection so why are you complaining so much
