Tyson vs Clay @ age 22?

Anyone else agree Tyson ices Cassius Clay?

Clay was very vulnerable early in his career....

Tyson in 88 was at his peak....

I like Ali. I just think Tyson at his peak would have eventually stopped a 22yr old Ali.

Tyson was having problems at age 22. At 21 he was at his best and I think definitely would have beat a 21 year old Clay or even 22. Just watch Clay vs Foster 1. I don't think Clay had the chin at that younger age that he had later on.

I don't think Clay has the experience. If Henry Cooper (Euro trash), could knock down Ali... just imagine.

        I got Tyson.

Calling Henry Cooper "Euro Trash" is disrespectful...especially as he is no longer with us.

He stepped into the ring with some of the best Heavyweights of all time and never took a back step.

Tyson stops Ali easily ,not sure what the purpose of the 22 year age thing is ?Ali became better late 20's early 30's...Tyson was still relevant at 22 ,i think Alis best shot here is if he fought post prison Tyson .

Tyson at a very young age was sparring with Lennox Lewis and having some problems with Lewis moving and jabbing. A young Ali was sparring with Sonny Liston and Liston was having problems with Ali moving and jabbing.
When you consider that Ali was NEVER stopped after being down or hurt I think you need to realize that it would be very difficult to stop him and I don't see Tyson winning a decision.
It would have been a great encounter and once again I think Tyson has his shot against anyone early but Ali was the fastest heavy of all time and at 6'3"
200--220 would bringing upper cuts as Tyson came to him and at some point Ali takes center ring and he will trade, when Ali spreads his stance and whips his brow he's ready to fight and once he stops moving he can hurt anyone!
This BS about him not bringing a punch is ridiculous!
You won't see very many fighters win flat footed exchanges with him.
Ali by decs. 10/12 or 15 rds.

what does respect have to do with anything 'round here?

Clay beat Liston at 22 and became champ.

Mike was at his peak 21-22

On an even playing field and in their primes, I think Tyson would K.O. Ali. Ali would be the better overall fighter, but Tysons power and style would just be too much for Ali. Tyson was essentially a stronger, younger, and more agile version of George Foreman. And lets face it, what happened with Foreman was circumstantial. Foreman was killing Ali the whole fight but got tired. Everyone knows this.
