Leo Santa Cruz vs. Settoul (???) apparently set for 5/2

Santa Cruz will face Frenchman Anthony Settoul in a non-title fight probably at 125-126 pounds. Source: espn deportes

Settoul met all requirements for this fight:

    He is not a contender
    He is a bantamweight
    He has a low K.O. %
He works as a fish merchant

Lol I'm actually inclined to believe that. Just checked him out, his last win is over a guy that's 14-35.

I imagine his competition will step up when he's fighting on PBC.

Still, no excuse for his terrible opposition for the past two years.

He's on the most lucrative ppv in history, if there any time to step it up, it's now. This is what his career.

It's a step up from the dish washer he fought.

Wow, so he fights a bantamweight at near featherweight. Thats weak. I'm surprised that they actually skipped Asian and Latin Anerican fighters to get a European fighter. European fighter usually suck at the lower weights....

Leo is one of those fighters I don't really care for. Don't love him and I don't hate him. He's just there. But it's getting harder to not hate this dude. That can all change once he fights Mares.

                  I agree completely.

Unfortunately it's not Haymon's show though, and he'll won't want one of his assets showcased in a competitive fight on a non PBC show (Mayweather's probably the only exception to this rule and his deal with Haymon is probably different from everyone else's given the fact, he doesn't need Haymon at this point). They know they can half ŕrse this undercard as it's not a selling point for the PPV at all, so why pay good money for a decent opponent? It's shít and it's not the way it should be, but unfortunately for us, that's the way it is.
